Buronga & Mourquong

Cross the Murray River to New South Wales, only 5 minutes away is Mourquong, home of the Australian Inland Botanic Gardens - the first semi-arid botanic gardens in the Southern Hemisphere. The gardens feature a stunning display of plants set on 167 hectares, of which 48 are landscaped. Also included are nature trails, rose gardens, a spectacular bush chapel, shearing shed and gift shop. Visitors to the nearby Orange World can learn about growing citrus and tour the orchards. In Buronga, visitors can explore the Buronga wetlands area and should also look out for the Varapodio Estate cellar door and café, where you can sample and purchase locally made, award winning olive oil varieties along with other boutique food and cosmetic products.
